33. The Low-Down On How To Make Art Prints
One of the best investments I have made in my art business over the past year, has been having my artwork professionally digitised. I did this for two reasons:
1) I frequently license my work to other companies, so the value of having a great quality image of my work as increased exponentially as this has become a bigger part of my business.
2) I wanted to make really large, really beautiful quality art prints.
It was an expensive direction to go in, but it's also one that has paid off over time will continue to pay off over time as those paintings can live on through various incarnations forever.
But it was an ENORMOUS process figuring all of this stuff out, which is why when my fellow artist and studio assistant Steph asked me about it on the podcast this week.
I was more than happy to fill her in on why I decided to do what I do and how I do it. We dive deep into the subject of how I have my artwork digitised and also how I choose to manage the print side of the business. We also dip into the pros and cons of printing your own prints, versus having it managed externally.
This is such a rich juicy episode and one that will have you thinking about the right way to take this side of your art business should you choose to do it.
